At approximately 11:00 a.m., employees were working at Manchester Terminal onboard a vessel. Approximately 12 employees were loading 5' x 10' steel plates onto the vessel (BBC Plata). The ship's crane was loading the plates inside the vessel with assistance from the employees. During the operation, two of the injured employee's fingers got pinched between two plates. He pulled away, and his left-hand, middle ring fingertip was partially severed (degloving).
