An employee was taking the cavity out of a cracked mold that weighs between 200 and 300 pounds. A chain was attached to the top of the mold to hold it in place. As the slack was being taken out of chain to lift the mold, the employee reached up to adjust the chain. His left middle finger was caught between the mold and the chain, severing the finger. His finger was able to be re-attached during surgery.
