An employee was helping to move a portable hydraulic lifting device onto the bed of a pickup truck. One of the folding legs of the portable hydraulic lifting device opened up. The injured employee reached for the leg of the unit and caught his finger in a pinch point caused by the movement of the leg. His right little fingertip was amputated.
