The operator was in the process of cutting down wooden runners for partial bundles. At the work station there is a pallet of wooden runners located on the floor by the cutting station. Plastic banding used to hold the wooden runners together during transportation was not cut or removed when the pallet of wooden runners was placed in its designated area. This caused the loop of plastic banding to protrude out from the wooden runners area. When the operator was leaving the work station his foot got hung up in the loop of strapping causing him to trip and fall to the floor fracturing the left femur.
