Final narrative
An employee and his supervisor were carrying a boiler part (weighing approximately 110 to 120 pounds) in tandem and placing it atop a pile. The employee was wearing Kevlar Gloves covered with rubber gloves (i.e.; two layers of gloves). The employee was helping to stabilize the boiler part on top of another part already stacked in the pile. The part the employee was adjusting shifted and the employee's left index finger was pinched between two parts. The employee tried to pull his finger out of the pinch point, and suffered a fingertip amputation with the loss of some bone.
