An employee was assisting a transportation driver who was catering a flight. He directed his coworker to secure the catering carts in her truck while he closed the aircraft door. When he proceeded to lower the handle of the aircraft door, his right pinky finger was caught between the handle and the hinge of the handle, amputating his fingertip.
