An employee was moving an overhead crane while walking with its pendent control. The crane's slings with the plate-dog attached were behind the employee as he walked. The plate-dog got caught on a empty steel work skid used to support the materials being fabricated and pulled it over landing on the employee's left ankle. The employee suffered a compound dislocation of the left ankle requiring surgery.
