An employee was moving paint from one storage area to another. He opened the door to the storage area and placed his right hand on the door for support while he bent down to pick up a bucket of paint. His right hand began to slip, causing the door to shut and trap his right ring finger between the door jam and hinge. His distal phalanx was amputated.
