While operating a drill/saw machine, an employee attempted to see why the drill tooling kept falling out of the drill head. The machine's conveyor rollers then moved a channel iron back out of the machine, and the employee's left leg was struck by the channel iron, resulting in a laceration above the knee. The employee's left calf was also caught between the machine and the channel iron, suffering a muscle injury requiring surgery.
