An employee was operating the tail stretcher. After stretching a profile, he began releasing the profile from the stretcher. He was facing the stretcher with his left hand in front of the machine and his right hand towards the back. His left hand passed across the light bar on the stretcher, which opened the jaws. His left ring finger was then caught in the jaws, amputating his fingertip.
