An employee was on the back side of a knot saw when he bent over to pick something up. He then placed his left hand on the top of the saw and reached over the saw with his right hand. As he reached across the saw, he pressed down on the top and his left hand slid over the blade, resulting in the amputation of his left index and ring fingers at the first knuckle.
