An employee was in the grain elevator working to un-choke an airlock using an air gun with a long extension. In the process, the safety tip on the air gun contacted the airlock causing the air gun to twist. The employee's right index finger was caught between the trigger and the body of the air gun, resulting in amputation of the fingertip.
