Final narrative
An employee was standing on a top drive unit (which was sitting on a skid about 18 inches off the ground) helping to test it. The unit was in vertical position at that time. The employee touched a bail that had a sling wrapped around it and the bail fell to a track. The bail brushed the employee s shin and then landed on his right foot. As he pulled his foot out, he fell backward about 5 to 7 feet away from the bail. He was hospitalized with a bruised metatarsal and tarsal on his right foot and bruised back. He also required stitches on his left arm.
