A maintenance employee was setting the calibration on the metal detection section of the packing line, which was not running at the time. The employee's calibration card fell into the belting on the conveyor. The conveyor belt was lifted to retrieve the card. During this time, the belt was activated. The employee's hands were caught between the bottom of the conveyor belt and a conveyor roller. He sustained the amputation of the left middle fingertip and lacerations to fingers on his right hand.
