An employee was up on a work platform removing the cover from an oil filter housing to change out the filters on a furnace when the oil pump continued to push out the oil, which contacted the employee and landed on the hot furnace. The oil then flashed and the employee received second and third degree burns on the left arm, left side of the back, buttocks, and flank area.
