An employee was attempting to transfer steel material from a re-coiler to a coil cart when the material began to recoil. The employee placed one hand on the material and the other hand on the console in order to prevent the material from uncoiling when their left hand got caught between the steel material and a push plate, resulting in a laceration to their hand.
