An employee was loading products onto an empty trailer from an elevated dock using a standup forklift. As the employee was backing out of the trailer and heading back toward the dock, the trailer shifted away from the dock approximately six feet. The lift fell from the back of the trailer and became stuck between the dock and the trailer and was left suspended. The employee was struck against the dock plate as a result of the fall resulting is severe damage to the head, spine, trachea, and back and paralysis.
