An employee was setting up a press by placing the die on the table. He leaned down to engage the compressed air with one hand while the other hand was resting on top of the die. When he activated the air, the die moved upward approximately 7 inches, and his left hand was caught between the die and the bottom of the stationary ram. The employee suffered three broken fingers, requiring hospitalization.
