An employee was attempting to bring the 5-ton crane to the coil grabber to hook it up and move it. The coil grabber was still hooked onto another coil. The employee pushed the crane remote button up when his left hand became caught between the coil grabber and the crane hook, pinching his fingers. The employee pulled his hand away and skin on his fingers was removed. The employee also suffered an amputation of the left ring finger above the first knuckle.
