An employee was helping a crew set up a derrick. The employee was holding the counterweight line away from the derrick to make sure the counterweight itself didn t make contact with the derrick. The counterweight got caught on the derrick, and the line that was pulling the counterweight up was parted. The counterweight came down the guide line that the employee was holding, striking him in the upper left thigh. The employee sustained injuries to his left thigh and the bones around his left eye.
