An employee was cutting off the end of a pipe with an automated saw that was on a roll conveyor. The employee went to move the cut end of the pipe. While his hand was on the cut end, a second pipe began moving toward him on the same conveyor. The second pipe made contact with the cut end and pinched his hand between the cut pipe and a roller, resulting in a fractured finger that required surgery.
