An employee was working on a torque converter unit to remove a coupling hub using a hydraulic steel plunger and a hydraulic pump. As the employee relieved pressure in the pump, the hub released from the unit, crushing their left index finger between the hub and steel plunger's pushing disc. The employee's finger was partially amputated.
