An employee was placing rolled angle iron into small bundles to be rigged for lifting to the scaffold. The 1,166-pound bundle was secured with a set of 3-ton grade chain bridles. When the bundle was lifted from the ground by the telescopic boom truck crane, the employee's left middle finger was caught in a pinch point and crushed, which resulted in medical amputation at the first knuckle.
