An employee had climbed a ladder to adjust brackets that were securing the boot of a down spout to a concrete portable plant. The ladder shifted and slid out from under the employee, causing the employee to fall approximately 6 to 8 feet to the ground. The employee was hospitalized with a compression fracture to his L1 vertebra.
