Final narrative
An employee was operating the hoist connected to the steel coil to replace the raw material needed for the metal fabrication machine. The employee requested help from another employee to push the coil from the opposite side in order to guide it onto the machine. The coil crushed his left thumb and he sustained an amputation to the thumb.
