An employee was conducting periodic maintenance on an air-handling unit. The employee was checking the tension when the drive belt spun and caught his gloved hand, pulling it into a pulley. The employee's ring fingertip was amputated at the first knuckle. The machine was not locked out/tagged out at the time.
