Struck by running powered equipment during maintenance, cleaning, testing · Amputations, avulsions, enucleations unspecified
Final narrative
A machine operator was completing a job change at their machine when a cylinder roller (anilox) did not properly align in the machine. The operator went to the cylinder area to see what was keeping the cylinder from properly aligning. As the operator leaned toward the cylinder to inspect, the cylinder dropped into the correct cradle position. When this occurred, the operator's left hand was positioned between the cylinder and the cradle and their index fingertip was crushed, resulting in a partial amputation.
