At approximately 11:30 a.m. on September 11, 2024, fumes and smoke from a chemical release that occurred at the tank wash on the property began to make their way toward the maintenance shop and terminal office. Another company had been cleaning a tanker that had contained methyl methylene diisocyanate, chlorobenzene waste which is a toxic, flammable material. A maintenance employee who was in yard and in close proximity to the tank wash, began to experience difficulty breathing and was hospitalized for treatment. An additional six maintenance employees were assessed by EMS on site and did not require further treatment.

An employee was performing janitorial duties on the 15th floor of a building that was under construction. She began having trouble breathing. The employee was hospitalized with lung irritation caused by dust.

An employee was sweeping in an area with powdered PVC on the floor and began having difficulty breathing and coughing up blood, The employee was hospitalized for inhalation of PVC.
