An employee was operating a forklift to lower a pallet containing a 25-gallon plastic container of corn byproducts from an overhead equipment platform 13 feet above the floor. As the employee tilted the mast backward, the container fell from the pallet. The employee jumped off the forklift to avoid the falling container and corn byproduct. Their foot slipped and the employee fell to the cement floor, resulting in a fractured left hip.
