An employee was trying to clear pelletized sulfur from a plugged chute. When the plug was freed, he lost his footing and fell about 4 feet. His throat struck a nearby handrail and his hands made contact with the working surface as he broke his fall. The employee sustained blunt force trauma to the throat and a fractured thumb. The employee was hospitalized.
