An employee was pushing cants through an edger to make 2 x 4 lumber. The employee used a sliver of wood to clear debris out of the saw entry when the edger blade contacted their left hand, resulting in partial finger amputations near the knuckle line. The machine was guarded with a track rail at the time of the incident.
