An employee was performing maintenance on the auxiliary power unit of a large platform lift when a gust of wind knocked him off the lift. The employee fell approximately 8 feet to the concrete ground. The employee was hospitalized with injuries to his clavicle, elbow, ribs, and hip. A fall protection system was not in use at the time.
