An employee was standing on a step stool at her station along a conveyor, applying oil and salt to edible nuts. She stepped backward off the stool and onto an idle pallet jack that had been placed behind her. She fell to the ground and her right side struck the back part of the pallet jack. The employee sustained fractured ribs.
