An employee was on a work platform elevated by a telehandler, and was working on the side of a new post-and-frame building. They were grabbing a piece of building material when the work platform detached from the telehandler, causing them to fall 8 to 9 feet down to the surface level. The employee sustained a fractured vertebra and a fractured left hip.
