During scheduled cleaning activities on filters, employees went to remove the lid from an in-service filter. Hot sugar beet juice sprayed from the pressurized filter unit, spraying onto the injured employee. The employee sustained second-degree burns to their lower stomach, mid-section, and inner thighs.
