helping in surgery - reaching over to loosen the cautery cord during closing of patient

I was scrubbed in for a chole I had on a gown and 2 pair of sterile gloves we were in the middle of closing an incision i reached over to let one of the cautery cords loose without realizing the suture needle facing up so my middle finger hit the suture needle
