A team member was engaged in the typical tasks of a DC associate fulfilling orders which commonly involves working at elevated locations. They proceeded with their usual routine to access a MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) machine a common practice for picking orders in high locations.

While utilizing the [REDACTED] the machine encountered an obstruction on the floor causing it to become stuck. Following training protocol the team member dismounted the machine and opened the pull-down cover to switch it to push drive mode. After inspecting the machine they attempted to dislodge the object by shaking it and then stooped down to re-inspect underneath. It was at this moment that the machine unexpectedly rolled forward and the open pull-down cover for the charging port made contact with their thumb.

Following medical attention the employee received a diagnosis of a bruised right thumb.

It has been confirmed that the team members ' thumb impacted the open pull-down cover for the charging port of the MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform).
