What happened

The injured employee was cleaning the edge bander machine as he had done numerous times before. The machine was turned off and all established safety procedures were followed. The facility 's dust collector happened to create reverse airflow in the machine and led the contour trimmer blade to start spinning. The tip of the injured employee 's left middle finger got caught in the blade creating a deep laceration and fracturing the finger.
