Two operators were assigned to remove a scrap bin from the [REDACTED] sifter.
What happened
Two operators were assigned to remove a scrap bin from the [REDACTED] sifter. Per the injured employees verbal statement they were performing team lifting with a tote and one operator began to feel ergonomic related discomfort. The operator used OTC medication believing it would resolve the issue. The operator was able to finish the working shift but symptoms worsened at home. This prompted the operator to contact a supervisor and EHS via telephone. This led to a referral to an occupational care clinic. The occupational care clinic provided treatment but symptoms worsened. The next day the operator contacted EHS that then referred the operator call Occupational Care for a medical recommendation. The operator was referred to the closest ER for emergent medical attention which resulted in hospitalization [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED]. The employee was released from the hospital on [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED].
