While hammering a pin out of the backhoe jack hammer the employees left hand slipped off of the punch being used and the employee hit the edge of his hand between his thumb and index finger with the hammer being used with the punch. This resulted in the employee suffering a small laceration between thumb and pointer finger that required stitches.
