What happened
the employee was acting as a helper on a rear load route. Just prior to the injury the employee was riding the right side riding step of the rear load truck while servicing residential hand stops. The driver of the truck came to a stop and signaled for the employee to come to the cab of the truck. The employee then stepped down from the riding step. In doing so the employee stepped in a hole in the pavement near the curb. The employee reports twisting his ankle which caused discomfort and resulted in him falling to the ground.
