While carrier was making a drive off delivery to [REDACTED] the carrier parked and exited the vehicle and in the process of exiting did not full open the sliding door of his LLV to the latched position. It is a fairly steep incline he was nose downhill causing the door to slide forward impacting his had between the door and the frame. While in great pain he finished the delivery to the address moved his vehicle into a safer location up the hill at [REDACTED] a small parking area and contacted management. I was in the area dropping off cuts to other carriers and was about 5 mins away. Arriving on site the carrier was sobbing cradling his right hand. There was swelling on the back of his hand. He requested that I pour water over it I assume because it was the only cool substance available I contacted the rest of the management team and stayed with the carrier until they arrived.
