on [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] the carrier knocked on the door of [REDACTED] to confirm the name on a parcel that was addressed to them. The customer opened the door and the dog pushed past the owner and attacked the carrier. the carrier backed down the stairs and the dog jumped off the landing knocking the carrier over and biting him. The carrier was unaware a dog resided at this address although he had seen the dog in the area of this residence. While the carrier was on the ground the dog bit again. The carrier was able to get up as the dog was still going after him. he kicked the dog and it did not deter the attack. The carrier was able to get back to his LLV as the owner regained control of the dog. carrier had satchel and dog spray on his person. the dog spray was in his shirt pocket and fell out when the dog knocked him over. animal control was notified. delivery is curtailed for this address. Dog is current on vaccines.
