What happened
[REDACTED] was assigned at the Postal Police Post located inside the Main Lobby of the [REDACTED]. At [REDACTED] the Retail Window Service closes for business and after the last customer leaves Postal Police secures the Lobby doors and vacates the Postal Police Post for the night. As part of the close out procedure the Officer closing the post must remove the Shotgun secured in an upright wall mounted shotgun case and transport it to Postal Police Office- [REDACTED]. The bottom of the shotgun case is about 9 inches above the floor where the stock of the shotgun rests and the top end of the placed shotgun barrel in the case measures at about 43 inches from the ground. This specific shotgun weighs approximately 141 Oz or 8.8 lbs. While securing the lobby area [REDACTED] retrieved the Lobby keys stored inside the shotgun case to lock the turnstile door. While doing so the Remington shotgun fell out. She reported the shotgun 's barrel flashlight struck the bridge and ankle region of her ri
