What happened
On [REDACTED] at [REDACTED] a [REDACTED] was working on the city dock loading DPS GPMC’s into a trailer in slot 11. Due to peak season the GPMC’s had to be turned sideways to provide additional space on the dispatching trailers. The [REDACTED] walked the GPMC into the trailer in slot 11 and as he turned the GPMC to place it sideways on the trailer the top shelf gate came loose from the top locking bracket and hit him on the forehead. As a result from the collision the mailhandler begin to start bleeding from his nose and he was in pain from the impact in his forehead area. Medical treatment was offered to the employee but he refused multiple times and requested to go home. He told me that he was fine and was able to drive home.
