What happened

While attempting to safely place patient on the stretcher patient became combative grabbing onto my partner. Patient began attempting to punch us and kick while holding onto my partners jacket. A [REDACTED] was called over the portable radio and after several minutes patient was able to be restrained safely until back up units and NYPD arrived. I was kicked in the stomach as well as my left hand.
