Was operating with Drs as well as her PA during the closing of our last case Dr. and the PA were closing the female patient and I was asked by Dr. to give a jackson pratt drain which was in my basin right to me.

Dr. then proceeded to pass not a fully protected suture needle that was dirty. I then grabbed the suture needle to put it in my sharps container and noticed I got stuck. I than announced to my team It went through and steeped back from the field.
