What happened
Employee states they were performing incision & drainage of an abscess to collect specimen for culturing. Another employee grabbed a used syringe from the neutral zone and thought they pulled the needle and the cap off but only pulled the cap off. While hurriedly stuck the syringe down to the incision site to get the specimen and stuck employee 's hand.
