What happened

Inspecting at end of conveyor not using cart. Stacking parts that were inspected on the conveyor when another part moved down the conveyor and one of the edges came into contact with his hand that was holding another part. Edge of blank lacerated the upper (top side) of the ring finger. Employee was sent to the Emergency room by the Supervisor sutures were required to close the laceration. Employee should have pulled parts onto an offline cart to perform the inspection but did not. Employee was not wearing company issued safety cut resistant gloves at the time. Employee indicated that they had changed to this non-standard glove just to perform the hand feed. The gloves were from a glass factory which they thought were protective and safe.
