Employee was rodding the Electrode on furnace 16-004. This was the employees first time completing this task. He was being training by the onsite supervisor.

After attempting to rod the electrode 3 times the supervisor decided to lance the electrode hole. When the employee placed the lance hot air and debris expelled from the feed port burning the employees wrist and causing him to trip and fall. During this process the employee was not wearing PPE required by the procedure.
